That is to say, they said considerable after the editors recovered their powers of articulation. Although Theodore Roosevelt had licked the present control of the O. O.

Roosevelt was born with that name and that he had acquired some eminence in his own right. It appears, however, that the Republicans Intend or, it might be better to say, had intended to do a little trading with the name of Roosevelt themselves.

It was proposed, it is said, to send T. R. Roosevelt, out west to trail Franklin D. Roosevelt to "show people the real Roosevelt." Roosevelt, the Democratic national vice-presidential nominee "to show the real Roosevelt." The "real Roosevelt," whose body unfortunately is In the grave, stood for law observance. It was a passion with him.

But his son last spring in the New York legislature voted for the passage of the nullification beer act, later invalidated by the supreme court. He, a Republican, betrayed his own party to Tammany and slapped in the face the moral element that was his father's strength. On the other hand. Franklin D. Roosevelt, who is spoken of so slightingly, when in the New York legislature, although a Democrat, refused to line up with Tammany but stood with the moral ele ment on the liquor issue.

Curtis Knight is In the race for state BY LEE HINGSTON My neighbor makes much more than but still I hear his yippings, he kicks about the price of pie and bacon tor his drippings; his words anent the cost of help would shock a drunken satyr, but still 1 do not hear a yelp because his wealth is greater. He claims we're going to the dogs and cites the price of cotton, he walks in rich, expensive togs and says the world is rotten He wears a diamond on his hand and glories in its flashes, but what he says about this land I'd only show in dashes. In days before we had a war each day he got a dollar, he spent it mostly at the bar, he wore a rubber collar; he profiteered and got a pile, he altered his condition, his heart is scratch-proof to a file and vile his disposition. Now riches came this man to spoil, they are too new and recent, he was in days he had to toil quite averagely decent.

Such is the woeful end we risk when capital enhances. Oh, shall we chase the dollar's disk and take such horrid chances! As far as I have been able to learn, high frequency cur-ents have nit yielded favorable results epllersy; in fact, when it is considered that the basis of rational treatment of this disorder includes the removal of all peripheral Irritation, it would appear that hih frequency currents would be contra-indicated. So far as our present knowledge goes, the most favorable results in the treatment of epilepsy are to bo obtained by regular methods of living, well-balanced diet and the use of a moderate amount of bromide. They will probably return via The pro-brewery record of the present bearer of the name of Theodore Roosevelt will get you some wet votes in wet centers if that is what you want. But he will not gain anything for you in the dry states of the west and south where his father was strongest. We are communicating the facts to the leading Democratic newspapers in the country and dry Democratic leaders in the dry states together with the additional fact that the wet bosses who are using him dared not nominate him for lieutenant-governor, because in addition to being in wrong with the moral element he is in bad favor with the very machine politicians with whom he is consorting, because, it is currently reported In New York state, he "ran out" on the Republican organization on the Socialist ouster question after having originally gone into it with them.

The mere spirit )fTlieodor8 Roosevelt, the Real," who being dead yet speaketh, will count for infinitely more than anything that can be said by a son who has turned traitor to much that the father stood for. Yours respectfully, (Signed) WILLIAM H. ANDERSON, State Superintendent Anti-Saloon League of New York. RESTRICTING THE SPLIT The only effect of the retirement of Uamsdell from the senatorial nomination race is that the radical vote will bo split two ways instead of three. The only candidates for the senatorial nomination who appeared before the politicians of the Non-Pairsan League and grovelled for the support of the unionists, were Worsley, Ramsdell and Stanford.

If service is to be reckoned in jawbone, Worsley was entitled to the nomination of the Non-Par-tisan League, and he deserves the support of every dyed-iu-the-red radical in the state, but he felt so sure of his position that he did not go to the lengths that either Ramsdell or Stanford did in ingratiating himself with the radicals. The latter offered himself up for "trial" by the unionists and threw himself on the mercy of the court, so to speak. If the unions found him unworthy, he would accept their verdict, he said. Ramsdell, however, did not so easily surrender the boon, and remained in the race after he was defeated in the race for the unionists' nomination, subsequently issuing a statement claiming that after all he was not solely interested in the concerns of the unionists, but of the fanner as well. But the radicals could not overlook 'the fact, evidently, that Ramsdell was once a mining operator and a capitalist and his paeans of adulation apparently did not carry conviction.

Now Ramsdell has left the field to Stanford and Worsley. The unionists, in view of their devotional protestations at the Tucson convention, might love either were the other dear charmer away. Only time will tell which was best loved, Worsley the Worthy Waxer or Stanford the Sedulously Silent. In the past those who have waxed worthiest have won labor's favor. But both were satisfactory to the radicals.

Their records and their answers to the now famous questionnaire, says the Arizona Labor Journal, "were beyond question and almost identical." But this competition is of course alien to the issues of the presidential and senatorial campaign. LETTING AN OPPOTUNITY SLIP It is reported that representatives of a large resort hotel syndicate Are making a deal for the purchase of Ramsey's Canyon for the purpose of making It a first-class summer resort, with hotel, lake and other features. It 13 said to be the plan to erect a dam at the "box" to furnish electric power. If those interested In developing tho mountain resorts near Tucson are not careful their opportunity will slip from their grasp. If Ramsey's Canyon is developed and a first-class hotel established there it will certainly draw patronage from the Catalinas and Santa Ritas and it is questionable if there is a demand for more than one adequately-equipped resort in southern Arizona.

At present the Catalinas and Santa Ritas are used largely by persons who have been able to build cabins for their own use, and there has been practically nothing done to cater to the individual vacationist. Why not assist those Tucsonans won have been trying to promote the nearby resort projects and thus be helping ourselves? We believe a modest hotel company could 'be promoted in Tucson by local capital and a hotel built in the Catalinas that would take care of the demand until a more ambitious mountain hostelry can be built. There is plenty of building material on the spot and nothing could be more attractive than an architectural design that would permit of the use of big pine logs. Mammoth 12:35 Oracle 1:35 CAR NO.
