Cosgrove, rural mail carrier out of Coolidge, informs us that the movement started several weeks ago to extend the services is making satisfactory progress. At present four petitions are on file in Washington asking for this many arms of extension along the present route. Another and fourth extension is expected to be included, but this has been delayed by the absence of Major Woodruff, who is in charge of the petition arranging for this reqeust. The total extension of the service, if granted, is estimated to amount to about 19 miles added to the route, and approximately 60 families to the list. It will still be a one-man job and one route.

Clements, prominent rancher of the Coolidge comunity for the past eight years, died in the Florence hospital Saturday, May 25, of pneumonia. Mr. Clements was born at Paris, Texas, February 3, 1883, and came to Arizona in 1924, farming near Marana prior to his locating near Coolidge. Last winter he left the farm and since has been residing with his son Clyde.in Coolidge, with whom he was engaged, at the time of his death, in the construction of an auto court and service station on the Phoenix-Tucson highway in West Coolidge.
