We have planned a church wedding and our minister said my husband must walk down the aisle with the bride. I bought Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" for our record player, and we have practiced "marching" every night. My husband goes to pieces every time 1 put the record on.

He gets weak in the knees and cries and it just tears me apart to see a grown man sob like that. He says he can't do it. 1 love our daughter, too, and she is marrying a fine young man, so I can't figure out what my husband is all broken up about. Would it be proper for me to go down the aisle on the other side of the bride to help hold my husband up? BRIDE'S MOTHER DEAR MOTHER: Sorry, but you can't go down the aisle with the bride to "help VinM vnnr hnchanrl II I HUPPPUt VOU sented by Mines Frank Pinner, Willard Lacy, Chester Parks and Mrs. Richard Lapo directing the Cherub Choir.

DEAR ABBY: My son is in the sixth grade and his teacher gave him a book about the life of Winston Churchill. Every night my boy reads the book in bed for about half an hour.

When his father gets ready for bed he will say, "Goodnight, Ralph. I'll bet you Churchill was born in Brooklyn." Now, Abby, on the very first page it says that Winston Churchill was born at Blenheim Palace, England, November 30, 1874. Could you please tell me where Brooklyn comes in? I keep asking Ralph to ask his teacher, but he forgets. Thanking you, I remain, WEAKY MOTHER DEAR MOTHER: The book is correct and your husband is a tease. The best way to handle a tease is to ignore him.

DEAR ABBY: May I shake your hand for advising young wives to believe their husbands no matter how tall the tale sounds. Here is my story: My husband used to come home at 4 am and say he'd been at his "club." I never really believed him because I knew the lights went off automatically at 1 am. One night I had to find out for myself, so I left my baby alone and walked to the club in the bitter cold. I saw his car parked nearby, so I waited and watched. About 3:45 am his friends started coming out of the club.

He was with them. One man said, "Jack, will you drive me home?" My husband replied, "Sure!" I ran all the way home and crawled into bed like an icicle, feeling so ashamed for having doubted him. Yes, Abby, he was telling me the truth. Know what they were doing? Playing TOURNAMENT BRIDGE by candlelight! Don't use my name. I don't want to embarrass my greatgrandchildren.

A wise husband will know the gift to select, if he has been on the alert long before December 24, deadline. Pima County home agent Lee McCoogan says that knowing mate's taste is the first prerequisite. If she prefers tailored and simply designed wearing apparel, remember her wardrobe when selecting jewelry.

Her color preference has priority over husband's even if he is paying the bill. Husbands TRY to keep uie price a secret. You can win in this category because you'll either pay too much or too little. Remember the follow-up to your gift and include this in the initial price. If you give perfume, you'll have to take her out to dinner.

A new purse will require a matching pair of shoes. If you select a new blouse, be sure the suit is fairly new. Simple And Quick. chilled butter infer -1-inch pats. Dip a -fork in hot wrter and -form your own designs.
