White, 67, yesterday was found innocent of a charge of failure to remain at the scene of an accident. The brief trial was held without a jury before Superior Court Judge John F. Molloy. White, of 233 E.

Waverly was arrested last June and accused of failing to remain at the scene after his car allegedly struck a pedestrian at S. 6th Ave. and 22nd St. White, who was defended by Atty. Darrel G.

Brown, claimed that he did not know his vehicle had struck someone. According police, he was stopped a short distance away by a motorist who had seen the accident. LUMBER CO. OBITUARIES ABBIE CHEW Mrs. Abbie M. Chew, 86, of 3844 E. Ft.

Lowell died Friday at her home. A retired nurse, she was a resident of Tucson for 17 years, having come from Gerring, Neb. She is survived by three nephews and two nieces. Friends may call at the Arizona Mortuary this afternoon and evening. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.

Florence Long; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Schnieder, and a brother, Arthur, all of Columbus, and four grandchildren. He was a member of the IBEW Local No. 570 in Tucson. Funeral services will be held a.m.

Brown, 58, of 522 N. Campbell died yesterday at Tucson Medical Center. A Tucson resident for four, years, N.C. he came from Hillsboro, He was a retired ice and coal dealer and life-long member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; a son, Herman, Philadelphia; a daughter, Joyce, Tucson; two sisters, Maude Brown, Hillsboro and Mrs.

Marjorie Matteson, Greensboro; three brothers, Edward, Jacksonville, N.C., Lucius and Randolph, Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Arizona Mortuary from 4 to 6 p.m. tomorrow. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the mortuary with the Rev.

He was a Tucson resident for 10 years, having come from Viroqua, Wis. James Carney and Mrs. Maxine Tanner, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. David Stump, Tucson; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Olson, Viroqua, Mrs. Alvah Hayden, Gays Mills, and Mrs.

Albert Wrobel, Houston, and three grandchildren. Arrangements will be announced by Adair Funeral Home. LOUIS SPOTTS LOUIS SPOTTS Louis Spotts, 66, of 1501 N. 2nd died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital.

The prosecution had sought to prove that Yribe and Ybarra sold a small quantity of heroin to Joe Valencia, an undercover agent for the state at the time of their arrest. Attys. Ettinger, representing the men, contended that Valencia had lied about the sale. They argued that he needed arrests to keep his $100 a week job with the narcotics division of the Arizona Liquor and License and Control Commission. Deputy County Atty.
