In Jr. Legion Stite Tourney Soleng,Miesa Vie Tonight By DAVE LAURITZEN r Soleng Center, the Southern District representative to the Junior American Legion State Baseball Tournament, will meet Mesa in a first round game tonight at 8:30 In Chandler. The Tucson team, consisting of 14 players, Coach Jim Fox and Manager Tony Bonillas Sr., will leave this morning at 10 o'clock from Pueblo High School. The Tucson -Mesa -Mesa game follows a game between Phoenix and Wins-low Wins-low Wins-low at 5 p.m. in the tourney opener. Fox has nominated Tony Ytturalde, 4-2 4-2 4-2 in regular season play and 0-1 0-1 0-1 in tournament, to start on the mound against Mesa with Tony Bonillas behind tha plate. Starting in the Infield will be Bobby Suarez, lb; Al Ortir, 2b; Dick Oastelum, 3b; and Gus Morena at shortstop. Dick Martinez, Martinez, Bobby Acuna and Amando Rincon will atart in the outfield at left, center and right respectively. respectively. The Tucson team earned the trip to the state tournament by winning the Southern District Tournament in Nogales . two; weeks ago. He also has two homers to hi credit. The Tucson team had 41 extra; base hits in 18 games, including tournament play. The breakdown showed 19 doubles, 13 triples and nine homers. . . Soleng's pitching staff compiled a 1.92 earned run average for tha regular season and a 2.10 ERA in the tournament. Ytturalde, Dick Martinez and Henry Martinez Martinez each had complete games In the tournament. Ytturalde paced the Tucson teams' pitchers during the regular regular season with 'a 1.63 ERA4 and had a 3.00 ERA for the 'tourney. Tony Altamirano, who won two games In the tournament and four in the season for a 6-0 6-0 6-0 record, haj a 2.13 ERA during the season and a 1.46 ERA in tournament play.
